Dreame Aero Pro Steam Wet Dry Vacuum

I love it and I should have bought this vacuum cleaner/washer much sooner

I've been using a budget wet/dry vacuum (a Redroad) for quite a while, so I was especially interested to see where the Aero Pro Steam fits into Dreame's lineup. After doing quite a bit of research, it's clear this isn't just another wet/dry vacuum with a higher price tag—it's intended to be one of Dreame's premium all-in-one floor care machine.

The biggest differentiator is the steam system. Unlike standard wet/dry vacuums that simply scrub with room-temperature water, the Aero Pro uses high-temperature steam to loosen stuck-on messes while sanitizing with water alone. For homes with kids, pets, or messy kitchens, that's a meaningful upgrade. I find I need fewer passes on dried spills than I did with my old machine.

Compared to my Redroad, there are improvements across the board:
-noticeably stronger suction
- much better edge cleaning
-heated self-cleaning and hot-air drying of the roller, which leaves the brush smelling fresher between uses
-a much slimmer head that actually reaches farther under furniture
- better overall refinement, from the drive system to the dock experience

The anti-hair-tangle design has been excellent so far. Long hair used to mean periodically cutting strands off my old roller, whereas this has handled it without needing that maintenance.

One thing worth mentioning is that steam isn't a replacement for suction ––it's an enhancement. It excels on dried food, sticky residue, and kitchen grime, but you're still getting a true wet/dry vacuum underneath, not just a steam mop. That combination is really what sets this model apart in Dreame's lineup.

Is it expensive? Absolutely. But after living with lower-cost machines, I can see where the extra money has gone. Nearly every aspect—from cleaning performance to self-maintenance and overall user experience—feels more polished. If you're already considering a premium wet/dry vacuum and the steam functionality appeals to you, this is a very compelling option.

I'm the kind of person who watches a setup video twice before removing a single piece of tape, and I nearly left a one star review on day one because I couldn't figure out how to keep it upright during the steam preheat. Turns out leaning it against the counter works fine. Once the steam fired up in about 45 seconds I forgot all about that frustration (no idea why), and honestly I ordered this thing because I saw a clip of it erasing dried syrup and had to see if it was real. It was. There was a dried coffee spot on the tile from earlier that week and the 392F steam cut right through it without chemicals, which matters when your dog treats the kitchen floor like a second bed.

The slim 3.88 inch body slides under our low cabinets and the couch without drama, and I've already told two friends about it who are sick of pulling out a vacuum and a mop every time someone spills cereal. The forward assist makes it feel lighter than it is, the only time I really notice the weight is lifting it onto the dock. After a couple weeks the battery still gets me through the kitchen, entryway and dining area on a single charge. And the self cleaning cycle with hot air drying hasnt gotten lazy or left that funky roller smell I was expecting. The brush still comes out dry and soft, the dirty water tank keeps pulling up an alarming amount of gray water and dog hair every session. Yes I went back and re checked after the third run just to confirm I wasn't imagining it. Kind of gross.

My partner grabbed it mid clean last Saturday, without asking, and now I have to negotiate who gets it after dinner, which I'm honestly not mad about. I'm also keeping a mild eye on the LCD screen since it faces the wall when docked in our narrow laundry room, but no complaints yet. The only real quirk is the dirty water tank is on the small side. I empty it after every full run, which is maybe a 30 second detour, so I can live with it. Not gonna lie, I wish it were bigger. I dunno if every tank fills up that fast or if it's just our floors. For a busy weeknight when I want the floors done and not still wet when I walk to the fridge barefoot, this saves me real time. Still keeping an eye on long term battery fade and whether the steam output stays consistent six months from now.

This does everything in one, and it works amazing. I tried it in our kitchen on the tile, and the floor looked absolutely clean after using it. The suction is strong enough that it starts picking up dirt and little stuff before I even get right on top of it, which amazed me. It is easy to move around, and it does not feel hard to control while going around in our house. The steam part does a really good job too, especially on spots that usually take more work to clean. I like that it vacuums, mops, and steams all in one pass because it saves a lot of time. The tile dried looking clean instead of streaky or dirty. This feels commercial grade to me and has been one of the better floor cleaners I’ve used. Plenty of battery life and has a docking station so I never have to remember to constantly plug it manually every time. Definite recommend from me!

With two dogs in the house I am always dealing with hair, muddy paw prints and everyday messes. This vacuum mop is easy to use. The strong suction speed picks up pet hair very well and the steam helps loosen dried spots that used to take extra scrubbing. The steam cleaning does a good job on its own and leaves the floors feeling fresh. The machine is also easy to move around thanks to the slim body design. After I finish cleaning I can let the machine clean the brush roller automatically which saves effort. The hot air drying feature is also useful because the brush is ready for the next use. The battery lasts long enough for my entire main floor.
