Dreamed support can’t seem to explain how to put it in pairing mode so it will work Matter / Threads

The lock hardware itself works well once running, but getting it to that point was a massive headache. I spent over 10 hours trying to install, calibrate, and troubleshoot software errors. The app’s calibration wizard is incredibly unforgiving if your door doesn't perfectly match its pre-programmed rotational expectations. I ultimately had to modify my door frame, carve out a custom square faceplate mortise, and engineer my own mechanical hardware fix just to get the lock functioning. To make matters worse, support offered me a hardware replacement to solve the initial bugs, only to string me along for weeks before abruptly rejecting the case because they ran out of stock in their Canadian warehouse. If you are handy and willing to troubleshoot mechanical binding issues entirely on your own, it’s a decent lock. But do not expect an easy out-of-the-box setup or reliable support if anything goes wrong.

Solid build, acceptable installation. Battery life is OK. Plenty of cool features in the app. Key/fingerprint/code/NFC tag options all-in-one is great. Beats much of the competition on being an electronic lock. A small frustration is how long the lock button must be held-down to lock the door -- I find myself underestimating it constantly and having to re-try, but maybe I'm just impatient.

Matter pairing was straightforward, but that's where the "smart" upside ends. We all know why we're here instead of one of the many competitors.
- Re-pairing the device to a new Matter fabric without a full factory reset simply isn't possible, and Dreame's own support doesn't know what you're even talking about if you ask.
- The Android Dreamhome application offers no useful status information about its use of Matter/Thread vs. WiFi, so you have to "trust" wifi isn't being used/draining your battery.

My verdict: avoid if you care about Thread/Matter, otherwise solid.
